Assemblies are the building blocks for any application and it have ddl files,exe files,html files or more files.
as we know why we need assemblies in .net framework,because of dll hell problems like two issue 1. version issue 2.security issue
so we introduced assemblies in .net framework. and by default an application can have only on assembly,and this assembly will be private to its own. Source: CoolInterview.com
