Question: What are 10Base2, 10Base5 and 10BaseT Ethernet LANs ?
Answer: 10Base2—An Ethernet term meaning a maximum transfer rate of 10 Megabits per second that uses baseband signaling, with a contiguous cable segment length of 100 meters and a maximum of 2 segments.
10Base5—An Ethernet term meaning a maximum transfer rate of 10 Megabits per second that uses baseband signaling, with 5 continuous segments not exceeding 100 meters per segment.
10BaseT—An Ethernet term meaning a maximum transfer rate of 10 Megabits per second that uses baseband signaling and twisted pair cabling.

All these 3 are related to ethernet cables, where 10base2 can define as maximum rate of data tranfer is 10megabits per second ,B standa for baseband signaling and 2 is for 200 meter of lenght... this is same for 10base5 but where in 10baset T stands for twisted pair of cable Source: CoolInterview.com

10 base 2 and 10 base 5 are terms used to describe coaxial cables.
10 is the speed 10 mbps base- signalling(baseband) 2 or 5 denotes the max lenght that can be used. 200 meters or 500 Source: CoolInterview.com

10Base5: means transmission speed 10 Mbps, coaxial cable, maximum segment length 500 metre, network length 2500 metre, minimum distance between node 2.5 metre. 10Base2: means transmission speed 10 Mbps, coaxial cable, maximum segment length 185 metre, network length 925 metre, minimum distance between node 0.5 metre 10BaseT: means transmission speed 10 Mbps, UTP(unshielded twisted pair)cat 3,4,5, maximum segment length 100 metre, network length 500 metre Source: CoolInterview.com
