Question: What Is The Difference Between ViewState and SessionState

Answer: ViewState persist the values of controls of particular page in the client (browser) when post back operation done. When user requests another page previous page data no longer available.

SessionState persist the data of particular user in the server. This data available till user close the browser or session time completes.

Question: What Is The Difference Between ViewState and SessionState


Answer:

ViewState persist the values of controls of particular page in the client (browser) when post back operation done. When user requests another page previous page data no longer available.

SessionState persist the data of particular user in the server. This data available till user close the browser or session time completes.

ViewState Relate to Controls, it means when Client send request in the form of Controls' value to server,In case any validation problem relating to Clients data then the entire data is not cleaned as it was occur is asp,it can restore the existing data in the form of hidden control and render data by server to respective controls,as a result user will not enter the complete information again,

view state & session state are objects which are used for maintaining a state.
but view state maintains a state in a single page.if we go to another page the state will be lossed.
busession state we can maintain a state as long as browser opened or session time expired. Source: CoolInterview.com

Viewstate is used to store Value for the current page only.

Session saves Value till the Browser is not closed.

Viewstate is used to keep the Value for the current page but incase of session state we can used the value in all the pages when the session is not expired means when the user is out of the browser.

Viewstate is used for transfer the value in the current page

in a current page only
example: registration form

session state means we can use the value in all pages
