In electronics, a diode is a two-terminal device. Diodes have two active electrodes between which the signal of interest may flow, and most are used for their unidirectional current property.

A diode is a two-terminal electronic component that conducts electric current in only one direction. The most common function of a diode is to allow an electric current to pass in one direction (called the diode's forward direction), while blocking current in the opposite direction (the reverse direction).

diode is eletronic device having two terminal.its allow the current flow in only one directon or in forward direction and its block the current in reverse direction.

Not all the diodes conducts in forward direction. Zener diode and tunnel diode works in reverse bias.
P-N junction diode works in forward bias.

Diodes are mostly used for rectifier and switching.

Diode is a device that having the two terminal named anode and cathode.Mainly they having the basic principle of the pn junction.Diode works in forward biased but there is zener works in reverse biased. For silicon semiconductor material knee voltage is 0.7v and for the germanium semiconductor material it's value is 0.3v.
