Question: Explain the elements of promotion mix.
Answer: Promotion mix comprises of following main elements: a) Advertising: It is the art of transmission of standard message about some product, service or an idea to the potential customers through mass media. Advertisement creates more revenue to the manufacturers. b) Personal Selling: Personal selling or salesmanship is an art of persuading as well as assisting the prospective buyer to buy the product or service, directly in a face to face situation either by the seller or by his representative. c)Sales Promotion: Sales promotion refers to all those activities other than advertising, personal selling and publicity that are initiated by the firms in stimulating the consumer's purchasing decisions and dealers effectiveness. d)Publicity: Publicity refers to transmission of information about the product or service or against any person, unit, organisation etc through mass media to the public by the third party without the influence of the producer.
