In a baseband transmission, the entire bandwidth of the cable is consumed by a single signal. In broadband transmission, signals are sent on multiple frequencies, allowing multiple signals to be sent simultaneously.

In base band transmission we transmit digital signal without converting it into analog.here a low pass channel is used.

In broad band transmission we transmit digital signal by converting it into analog. Here a band pass channel is used.

1.Baseband signal uses digital signal.where as broadband analog.

2.Baseband transmission is bidirectional but the broadband is unidirectional.

3.No any frequency division multiplexing use in baseband . where as frequency division multiplexing use in broadband .

4.In baseband signal travel short distance and in broadband signal can travel long distance.

baseband transmission means send digital signal without changing them to analog signal. In baseband we use lowpass channel. A channel who bandwidth start from zero to infinity it means that all the bandwidth of the channel use only single signal.
In broadband signal we convert digital signal to analog signals. it require a bandpass channel. A channel whose bandwidth does not start from zero. it means we can send more than one signal in bandpass channel.

baseband signal is the source signal from a network devices and always is digital while broadband signal is like a carrier signal in which the modulation is taking place to enhance broadband transmission.
