What is the difference between TFTP and FTP application layer protocols?

TFTP Trivial File Transfer Protocol A stripped down version of FTP, easy to use and fast. TFTP has no Directory browsing, no Authentication and insecure it can only send and receive files.

FTP:-it is widely used protocol on internet to transfer file and directory.for transferring file throw ftp user need user-id and password for security accessing.
TFTP:- it is the stripped down, stack version of ftp. tftp has not directory browsing ability it only send and receive file. it has no authentication as with ftp, so it is insecure. Source: CoolInterview.com

FTP uses port number 20-21 and the protocol used is TCP.
TFTP uses port number 69 and the protocol used is UDP (The reason why its faster than conventional FTP) Source: CoolInterview.com
