We perform both Retest and Regression test.<br><br>Retest- Means executing the test cases again and checking their Pass/Fail conditions (mainly checking whether developer has fixed the problem or not)<br><br>Regression Test- Its retesting + checking the fixed part is creating its side effects or not. If a piece of software is modified for any reason REGRESSION TESTING needs to be done to ensure that it works as specified and it has not negatively impacted any functionality that is offered previously.That's the regression testing.
It cover's the following area's 1) original functionality 2) any functionality that was addressed by change 3) performance of the system after the change was introduced.
