1. At 6?o a clock ticks 6 times. The time between first and last ticks is 30 seconds. How long does it tick at 12?o clock

66 seconds

It is given that the time between first and last ticks at 6 o is 30 seconds.
Total time gaps between first and last ticks at 6 o = 5
(i.e. between 1 & 2, 2 & 3, 3 & 4, 4 & 5 and 5 & 6)

So time gap between two ticks = 30/5 = 6 seconds.

Now, total time gaps between first and last ticks at 12 o = 11
Therefore time taken for 12 ticks = 11 * 6 = 66 seconds (and not 60 seconds)

1.66 secs .6 ticks cover 5 intervals spanning 30 secs.hence by unitary method 12 ticks cover 11 intervals which will span 30*11/5 =66 secs.
2.since number of "belows"=no of "aboves" and each above-below pair cancel each other henceit is the fifhth floor.
3.the speed of bangalore train is double that of mysore train.
let speed of bang. train=b
" " " " " " " mys. " =m.
" distance between stations=d.
"let trains meet at "x " distance from bangalore.
from given data x=4m and d-x=b
now ,time elapsed before meeting =d/(m+b).
in this time bangalore train covered x distace .hence its speed is=x/(d/(m+b))=b (as assumed earlier)
putting x=4m and d-x=b in this equation we get b(b+4m)=4m(m+b)
giving b^2=4m^2
or b=2m.

On the way up, the bellhop knew that he could not divide the five one-dollar bills equally so he put two of the one-dollar bills in his pocket and returned one one-dollar bill to each of the salesmen.
